The beginning of Wakeful.

October 14th was the beginning of a new musical proyect that will keep you awake on sunday night and extend the weekend a few more hours.

The first night of Wakeful came along with a special guest from one of the most important labels in the electronic music scene. Jacob Phono, one of the favorite disciple of the Highgrades Records, was the guest for the beginning of Wakeful residency at Golden Gate.

Jacob is better known in the electronic music scene as Phonokemi, a project he makes in collaboration with Kim Jensen and where he has released his most succesful material like “Descompose” track that gave them a push in their artistic careers

This time he came alone to confirm that with and without his partner Kim Jensen, he can keep the people wakeful even on monday morning.

The hosts of the night freedomB and Bruno Otranto, also founders of Wakeful, opened the dance floor late that Sunday; the latter was chosen to prepare the atmosphere witha perfect warm up that included groove, vocals and hypnotic rythms that were perfectly combined to warm more that enough the audience that was growing on the dance floor.

It was around 1am when freedomB took control of the turn tables to speed up the bpm to make a transition of a more techno sound was preparing the field and tunning the atmosphere for the entrance of our guest who would take the mood to the top.

It was 3am in the morning when J. Phono was in charge to drive the music and the dance steps of the people with a slow but effective sound that lasted little more than 3 hours. Great presentation of a dj that confirms that he has granted the place in Highgrade Records having the support of people like Todd Bodine or Tom Clark.

To end up the weekend, Bruno Otranto came back to bring great doses of authentic “club sound” that moved our bodies for one more hour while you could feel the meaning of Wakeful, a word that will become popular in the urban vocabulary: Wakeful.
